In Thanksgiving for Rain

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways;

then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

2 Chronicles 7:14

 Fruits of the Holy Spirit

THURSDAY

We don't know what the day will hold; what we do know is what we have right in front of us-all we can live for is what God gives us right now. That gift of His kindness and generosity for us to share.

Lord we are so unworthy of Your love and grace. Help us to see You and live for others that they may come to know Your love for them. Amen.

THURSDAY

We don't know what the day will hold; what we do know is what we have right in front of us-all we can live for is what God gives us right now. That gift of His kindness and generosity for us to share.

Lord we are so unworthy of Your love and grace. Help us to see You and live for others that they may come to know Your love for them. Amen.

FRIDAY

Things that attract and hold our attention are those same things that develop our way of thinking. We either stay focused on what we should be doing or we can get distracted and lose our way. How true it is with our faith; either we stay focused on a Christ-centered life and all that draws us to Him or we fall prey to the distractions and let our attention go to worldly things.

We pray for Your grace O Lord that whatever our days bring us that our patience be shaped and molded within Your hands as we place our trust in Your will and not in the will of the world as we center our lives on You. Amen.

THURSDAY

How can we be any closer to Christ than when we are in Communion with Him, the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ? And then, why would we miss that opportunity to be that close with Him every chance we could?

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on us as sinners. Bring us ever closer to that fullness of life with You in the Eucharist we pray so that we may more completely know and become Your life in us. Amen.

WEDNESDAY

Shortchanging our lives for the sake of the world is nothing less than giving up to the world's standards. From a worldly point of view, that gains us nothing for eternity; from faith-filled perspective, we would be way better off with standards less human and more divine.

We pray Holy Spirit for Your help to let go of what keeps us here and attached to the things of this world so that we may find the courage to live unfettered and giving in to Your love and spirit. Amen.

TUESDAY

One face can go this way, another face can go that. What our personalities tell us and others about ourselves can be that hypocritical self we seem to dislike so much in others. Practicing a life centered on virtuous living, loving our neighbor and giving of ourselves completely makes it easier to have but one true face and not anymore than that.

Let the passion of Your immense love Lord Jesus be seen in our face of love for others, beyond our own selfish ways that keep us from loving You and our neighbors. Give us the merciful heart to know and love as You have loved, fully and completely. Amen.

MONDAY

There is not nearly enough wealth in any town, city, metroplex or state or country to fill one’s pockets to satisfy as only the love of God will satisfy—if we but give ourselves fully and unconditionally to Him.

We pray O Lord to live in You completely, without reserve or limit, so that we may come to know the love You have for us that is unconditional and complete and that we may have it for You and our neighbor. Amen.

SUNDAY

PENTECOST

Along with the gifts of the Holy Spirit, Jesus left the disciples with His peace and the Good News for the whole world. Their mission is very little different than ours: just that a few years separate what they proclaimed and what we share in ours: let us all share in the glory of the Lord and the peace and love that living in Him brings.

Lord Jesus Christ, fill our hearts with the passion that is found living only in You and the grace and strength to share it. Amen.

SATURDAY

We don't necessarily have to like the path we are called to journey, we do have to take it as resolutely as we prayerfully can. With free will and God's love, we can embrace our path to salvation.

When the world seems to be having its way O Lord, help us to see beyond the ends of our noses and see more clearly the path to eternity with You. Amen.

FRIDAY

The disciples had enough of their own hardships even with all that Jesus left them. They drew their strength from the love and peace He instilled in them and promise of salvation that awaited them. What is keeping us from drawing from that same well of hope and trust?

Lord Jesus, You conquered sin and death with Your crucifixion and resurrection. Let our courage and steadfast spirit be found in You as it was in the disciples so that we may trust in You through our battles and trials. Amen.

THURSDAY

The best way to give glory to God is through prayer. We can and should pray every day. Every day we can pray in all we say, do and think. So then let each day be filled with giving glory to God in all we do for Him.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

WEDNESDAY

Just because we say we live God's will, does it mean are we really living it? There are so many choices throughout our days to 'to do the right thing' and then even the 'righter' thing. How often do we challenge ourselves to fully live out the fidelity of our faith?

The world would have us believe otherwise O Lord but we strive to be more faithful to Your Word. We pray to be more conscious to the needs of others, to live more fully in Your love and to seek the goodness of life You have given us. Amen.

TUESDAY

To live with unconditional love means no strings attached-all in to that which God has given us. That means a love in perfect union with Him and those He has brought to our lives. Aside from the fact we'll never be perfect, we can continue to put ourselves to the test to be as close to it as possible as we love as much as He loves us.

Let us love selflessly O Lord as You have shown us. Help us to put our individualness aside and live more fully in harmony with You, with our families and with our neighbors as You have shown us. Amen.

MONDAY

Denying someone your love is a painful experience. Imagine that relationship and situation with Peter and Jesus and yet Peter was shown forgiveness in so many ways. How do we show our love for Jesus? How often do we fail? The failure that matters is the one when we don't get back up.

Lord You know I love you. Show me the way to feed Your lambs. Teach me the way to tend Your sheep. Show me the way to guide Your flock so that I may know less of myself and more of You to serve. Amen.

SUNDAY

'What we've got here is a failure to communicate.'

There are those days that our prayer lives come up empty it seems, as if we get no response or we are not saying the right words or feeling the right way to pray. As the line uttered from the movie says, sometimes we do have those failures in communication though if we keep offering up our faith and prayer to God, there will be no failure in our prayer life with Him. God our Father, with all that we have from You, we still feel the emptiness of the world around us. Grant us we pray the fullness of Your love and grace as pour out the sins of our worldly desires and fill our hearts and minds with wisdom and power of Your abundance of grace. Amen.

SATURDAY

How is it that we put our trust and faith in God when the world around us seems so oblivious to Him? It is our perseverance that will bring the peace and promise of salvation as we wholeheartedly give ourselves to Him for the good of the world-no matter what comes back from it.

Our joy will be complete in You we pray O Lord as we place our trust in You, no matter the challenge, no matter the pain, no matter the sacrifice we are called to live. Amen.

FRIDAY

Embracing our faith is more than just saying we are faithful, more than just praying we are faithful. It is the active, intentional and engaging sacrifice of what we believe and live in Jesus Christ.

Lord Jesus, help us bear witness to the faith You have given us as we minister in Your kingdom. In our prayers and actions, help us see more of You and less of us as we humbly give our all to You. Amen.

THURSDAY

We can only guess as to what tomorrow may bring-if we were that sure that God had such a plan for us. Given that we are not 100% sure, we should live as though that leftover percentage is all about Him and whatever it is we have for ourselves we live it all for His glory as well, doing good and avoiding evil.

Lord Jesus, we pray that we are transformed more to Your likeness and given in to Your love and joy. As Your disciples cared for the early Church, help us tend to those in the Church and coming to the Church as we care for them in Your holy name. Amen.

WEDNESDAY

The whole truth and nothing but the truth... so help us God. Maybe they still say something like that in courtrooms-if not maybe they still should and maybe we should iterate that throughout our day to keep us where God would have us be-living in His truth, as only He can help us.

Let us be in tune with Your help and may we turn to You O Lord when we need You and not rely on that help we try only on our own. Help us see the discerning gifts You have given us to live more authentically in Your word. Amen.

TUESDAY

The fruit of our efforts as we love one another may not be seen in their entirety here on earth; the fullness of His love will be seen as our Christ-like ways 'bear fruits that last' for all eternity.

Show us O Lord the path to eternal glory with You as we follow Your command to love one another as You love us. Through the grace You share and the power of forgiveness, may we come to know You as our friend forever and ever. Amen.

MONDAY

Though it may seem like we do so many things on our own, even with our certain amount of pray time throughout the day, there is the guidance of the Holy Spirit pushing us-pulling us-along.

As we grow in our faith and understanding, be with us we pray Holy Spirit and guide us though we may not know the way or even like the path we are on, only submitting to Your will and love. Amen.

SUNDAY

Of all the truly good and close friends we have, maybe we can count them all on one hand, at the most come close to filling up the second. Before any count starts, the first and closest friend we have is in Christ Jesus. The rest we have we will see Him in them.

Loving Lord Jesus, You are our strength and rock, our peace and comfort as we find in our closest friend. May we continue to grow in faith, in hope and in love with You to bring out the Christ-like love in others as we follow Your will. Amen.

SATURDAY

In our jobs, our ministries, our families-in all we set out to do-we will meet some sort of opposition as we maintain our faith. Since Jesus set the foundation of His Church, He too was met with rejection. How much more are we willing to carry our cross for the sake of what we hold true and believe?

Bring us the light of Your love O Lord so that we may see more clearly Your glory and the path to everlasting life and that we may stand more resolutely and steadfastly for You now and always. Amen.

FRIDAY

What we believe is shown in the way we live. If there is love in our lives, it is expressed in our actions, words and ideas. That love bears fruit for others to come to know then our faith, our love for Jesus Christ, our One True Love.

In our Christ-like ways O Lord we pray for the daily inspiration to be led in Your Way, Your Truth and Your Love to bear fruit for all eternity, beyond all we can imagine here on earth. Amen.

THURSDAY

Staying out of our own way is hard enough; staying out of God's way and ours really complicates matters on our way to holiness. Let us pray for the grace and love to find favor with Him to move beyond ourselves and find that joyful place with Him.

Let us rejoice O Lord as we pray for the steps we take with You and for You as we make our hearts and minds and souls ready for Your love and grace here and for eternity. Amen.

WEDNESDAY

Not a body is perfect nor the soul within it either. Both are in need of sanctification and purification, the types that come from one source and one source only-our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Lord, we are saved not by our merits or words or thoughts but only by the grace You give us. With Your kindness may we come to kn0w the fullness of Your glory and peace. Amen.

TUESDAY

A piece of the puzzle is missing. Maybe a tooth or two has been lost along the way. Or there's not the full complement of dinnerware you used to have anymore. Not much joy or satisfaction in those earthly matters anyway. They are all small matter compared to the joy we have prepared for in the Master's house.

Lord Jesus Christ, we prepare for our life eternal with You with hope and anticipation all You have made ready for us. We pray for the perseverance and grace to remain in Your love so that we may live so that others may come to know Your glory and joy forever. Amen.

MONDAY

For the paths of our journey to holiness, the one thought to keep in mind: what is God's will for us and how does that match up with our wants and needs.

Fill our hearts with the strength to follow You Lord Jesus as we take our steps today along the path of salvation. Though temptation is around us, guide us to the way everlasting with You into a new life each day. Amen.

SUNDAY

When we have visitors, we make ready for them a place to share with us conversation, a meal and friendship. Our lives on earth are but moments in preparation for that place being prepared for us in eternity with Christ Jesus. He's got His side covered-how are we doing so far?

Lord, You are the light for us all-grant that we give our lives to You in sacrifice and praise so that we may share in Your glory for that day we may see You forever. Amen.

SATURDAY

Our work too often gets in the way of what our life should be-offering up in return what God has given us in love, faith and spirit of life.

Lord we pray to see through our needs and to the needs of those around us so that we serve them with the love and gifts You have given us. Amen.

FRIDAY

Through the darkness of our lives we are led by the light of the Risen Lord. Yet we can only live in it by bearing the cross He died on for us.

Let our prayers be lifted O Lord with the Words of eternal life that You have given us as we give our lives and prayers for others as You gave for us. Amen.

THURSDAY

If we don't agree with something or someone, we would or could have a tendency to ignore it. If we do something like that with the Truth of Jesus Christ, we would be denying ourselves the chance of a lifetime to be as He would have us be-His servants, His disciples.

We pray that our ignorance does not keep us ignorant of You and of scripture that is You O Lord. Open us to accepting all that You are for us so that we may know, love and serve You faithfully and humbly. Amen.

WEDNESDAY

We've stumbled around in the darkness of unfamiliar rooms or territories only long enough to find the light switch. Much like our lives, we struggle in the darkness of sin only too  long--enough to know that the Light is so much better than the dark.

Lift us up we pray O Lord from the dark of the night to the Light of faith and trust in You so that the more we find the light of Your love we may come to know the fullness of our life in You. Amen.

TUESDAY

What we want and what we get in our prayers are not always the same. We even sometimes challenge or demand that God do this or that. Better that we ask or let Him lead us to that way everlasting with His will than make our lives a greater mess with our will and challenges.

Lord, we see what messes we have become with our simple-mindedness without the guidance of Your will. We pray for the forgiveness of our sins and the love You have for us to bring us to Your arms, now and forever. Amen.

MONDAY

We love as we live and we live as we love. Okay, it does sound a bit trite but it is as true as we believe it to be. However much we believe in the love of Jesus Christ for us is as much we believe and live that love for others.

We pray Lord Jesus that Your Way, Your Truth and Life are made clear and authentic in us as our witness is true to You and others as we live to love You. Amen.

SUNDAY

With a Christ-centered life, we can love Him and others more deeply and more sincerely. Why then would we not want so much more not just for ourselves but more importantly for those we love?

Not for us Lord do we pray now but for those You have taught us to love and teach us to love-those close to us and those we chose not to love and those we find hard to love-our neighbor, our enemies, the marginalized, those who do not love us. As You love us, we pray for the joy to love them. Amen.

SATURDAY

Through the Eucharistic Feast and our nourishment from it, Jesus will bring us to everlasting glory with Him. There are many of us who spend too much time building our lives here instead of our lives for eternity.

Give us we pray O Lord food for the journey, the sustenance of our souls so that we may eat of the Living Bread and live forever with You. Amen.

FRIDAY

Our faith leads us to believe in the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. If we don't believe, why would we receive? Let us prepare ourselves better each time for the renewal of our hearts and minds and souls for His Real Presence in our lives.

Not for the faint of heart is Your Word and Life Lord Jesus. Help our belief and lead us all to be steadfast i our faith so that we may bring others to know the Real Presence that we find in You and with You. Amen.

THURSDAY

What little power we think we may have even over our own lives pales in comparison to the power that is Christ Jesus. Pick a miracle and realize the love behind it. Go beyond that and realize the power of creation that God has brought forth. How small we all are in the hands of God; how much greater though He cares for each of us as His very image and likeness.

From the very beginning Lord to our very breath today, You have given us the power to do Your will. We pray that we follow with good intention and prayerful hearts that all we are and do will be with You and as You will for us, according to Your power and glory. Amen.

WEDNESDAY

We may sometimes think on our own that what we can do is pretty decent stuff, the paths we choose, the work we do, the things we accomplish.  In fact and in truth, we've accomplished this not on our own but how we have followed Christ-'I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.'

Open our minds and hearts we pray so that we may more clearly see the path we are following with You O Lord, not as our will be done but with Your will revealed for us. Amen.

TUESDAY

There are those days we have that craving for something in particular, something that satisfies us like nothing else. There is no spiritual nourishment like the Bread of Life, the Real Food of the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharistic Feast. Whatever else we crave pales in comparison.

Satisfy our hunger in You we pray O Lord with the fullness of life of Your Body and Blood as we come to You in the Eucharistic Feast. Of all the good food we may take in, Your goodness and fullness will bring us to everlasting life. This we believe and pray. Amen.

MONDAY

It is by our witness, our example that others see the love of God. We must first have that desire for that love for our witness to be authentic. How's that working for us today?

May our prays be true and our actions be meaningful Lord Jesus as we unite our hearts with Yours, growing in faith, hope and love. Amen.

SUNDAY

No matter where our journeys take us, the nourishment we need for our spiritual life sustains for our journey to eternal life: the body and blood of Jesus Christ, His real presence, gives us strength for our journey home.

You are our food for the journey, Lord Jesus; no other food can truly sustain us as we place our hope and salvation in You. Grant us we pray the courage to stand for what is right, the grace to accept Your will for us and the peace and wisdom to bring others to You. Amen.

SATURDAY

Our faith calls for us to make tracks: we cannot be idle and be truly faithful for the devil has his ways with idle temptation. With faith and prayer, we can move toward a more Christ-like life and away from the idleness of temptation.

We strive O Lord for progress in all aspects of our lives yet none more than our spiritual journey. Help us we pray to see the goodness and mercy of life in You as we live to love as You taught us. Amen.

FRIDAY

We cry out for mercy when we give little of our own. We reach for the embrace of comfort though we too rarely extend a hand to do the same. We ask for the grace of God to cover us just this one time... and He is there.

O Lord God, You hear our cry, You cover us in grace, You reach out and pull us from the darkness. May we come to realize the life we have in You for Your love endures forever. Amen.

THURSDAY

We don't get to our destinations without some sort of guidance or direction. We've either had some experience going a particular way before, someone has shown us or shared with us their own journey. For our lives, the same is true. And in the event that path gets detoured by our choices and the darkness of sin, God took care of that when He sent His Son.

We pray Lord God that our salvation is not of our own accord but through that of Your Son Jesus Christ. Light the flame of hope in our darkness to see us through to Your perfect love so that others may come to know You and reach that eternal glory with You. Amen.

WEDNESDAY

We are all carriers of something, to admit it or not is up to us. To say what we carry is also up to us-stuff, good stuff or not. News, good or bad. Attitude, upbeat or end of the world or somewhere in between. As much as we are what we eat, we are as much as what we carry and how we do it.

Today we pray that our cross we carry shows not who we are O Lord but Who You are in us. Amen.

TUESDAY

We know those times in our lives when there a certain moment of peace that is 'beyond all understanding'. We also know that they are few and far between as we relish the fullness of the moment they bring. The more we live in Christ, the more we will find those moments-He'll be there to share them with us.

We pray to find You Lord Jesus in all we seek to do and be and share in the peace that You bring. Let Your peace be the rule, not the exception for us so that we may share it and bring others to know how You love them. Amen.

MONDAY

It's one thing to talk about how good we might be able to do a certain thing. It is another thing to go do that thing as we set out to show our ability and talent. What are we displaying to others as we live out our discipleship-how easily would someone see Christ in us today through the glory of God in our lives?

Search me and know my thoughts. Try me and know my anxieties. See if there is any wicked way in me and lead me in the way everlasting.

Psalm 139:23-24

May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in Your sight O Lord my Rock, my Redeemer.

Psalm 19:15

DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY

Each day we have is another opportunity for a renewal in our life in Christ. What are we doing with His gift?

How foolish we are O Lord to seek ways to outdo You in our human tendencies. Grant us the gift of humility no matter how hard we may fall so that we may more readily accept the mercy and grace You have for us in the forgiveness of our sins. Amen.

EASTER SATURDAY

When we sometimes don't get our way, we get in other peoples' way and that can cause some problems. Worse yet, we get in God's way and that causes even greater issues. For those times we are a bit obstinate, let us remember that it's not about getting what we want as it is giving to get what we need.

Heavenly Father, hear our prayers of thanksgiving and praise as we offer ourselves to You and ask for the forgiveness of our sinful and prideful ways. Guide us to Your will and that it be done so that we may give so that others may live to know You and love You. Amen.

EASTER FRIDAY

To many of us, things seem to appear much better over the course of a meal. So it went with the disciples as they recognized Jesus as they ate with Him. How does that work for us-do we realize His presence at our meals, our conversations, our vocations and ministries?

On our path to holiness O Lord we pray that our hearts and minds be open to see and hear more clearly Your presence in our lives as proclaim Your good news. Amen.

EASTER THURSDAY

As Jesus breathed peace upon the disciples, they found it truly to be Him-His living peace among them. In our own times of distress may we too find His peace within us.

We pray today and always Lord Jesus that we soak in Your Word, Your breath, Your life so that we learn to handle all that You would have for us. Amen.

EASTER WEDNESDAY

On our journeys, we may miss those pointers from time to time that help us see the greater picture-the more we look with the light, the more we may see in it.

Lord, the fullness of who we are comes not from the addition of things we have but from the emptiness of our humility and the grace we receive from living in You. Amen.

EASTER TUESDAY

Those people that are close to us, we know them when we hear them, especially those of our family. None are closer than the voice of Jesus when He calls us-let us listen closely as we pray to hear His voice, none closer as we are His family, His brothers and sisters.

Therefore we pray Lord Jesus to hear and heed the voice of Your call as we submit to Your will. Let nothing we say or do get in the way of Your love for us or our love for You so that we may attain salvation eternally with You. Amen.

EASTER MONDAY

One must believe something-you cannot be on the fence or something is going to tear and that could get painful, as the cowboys would say. There were those fence-sitters then that tried to downplay the Resurrection just as those today who cannot quite grasp the concept. What pain shall they suffer? And how can we bring them the Way to the Truth?

As the stone lay aside and the the Light has shone again, we pray that our faith shines in our lives as we place our hope in You Lord Jesus. Let nothing block our path, let no stone be unturned, as we fix our eyes on You. Amen.

EASTER SUNDAY

What will you see in the tomb? Doubt or faith?

For those times we are weak we pray O Lord for the strength of the disciples on Easter Morning who saw the linens in the empty tomb and knew that You had risen. Let our faith live and rise with You. Amen.

HOLY SATURDAY

That silence that we feel, that we hear, that we sense-it is just what we need. It is just what we all need to further realize the emptiness in our lives when there is the closeness of hell as the Son of Man has given His life for us.

Let us approach the darkness not with fear of death any longer but with faith and hope for eternal salvation. For we know that Christ has conquered once for all the death of sin and will bring to us His light forever. Amen

GOOD FRIDAY

Such a sacrifice as this. Then, One Life for the entire world, for eternity-past and present and beyond.

Today, sacramentally made each day hundreds of times as we celebrate the Eucharist. No invitation necessary-He's already opened the door for us all to join and share with Him all He has.

Let us approach the altar and share with You O Lord the body and blood which gave for our life. We pray that we may never turn from You yet may find our hearts filled with Your love and grace as we humbly follow Your will. Amen.

HOLY THURSDAY

As Jesus washed the feet of His disciples, one had already broken his trust in Him. That trust is what keeps his and our faith intact. Without it, our faith is not about our God but about the world.

Let not our trust nor our faith be broken from You as we may fall or doubt O Lord, no matter the consequence or trial. Whether we are betrayed or if we are tempted to do so, let us be filled with the grace to stand with You and trust in Your will. Amen.

WEDNESDAY

We do not die to ourselves if we put our lives before others-that's not how it works. Jesus took Lazarus-a dead man-and showed how new can make a difference. Imagine what His Resurrection will do for our new life in Him.

By Your life, death and resurrection O Lord You have set us free from those sins and chains that bind us to the powers of earthly hell. With Your love, mercy and grace we can choose to rise above and claim our eternal joy with You as we profess our faith. Amen.

TUESDAY

Headaches, toothaches, general aches and pains that keep us from feeling as good as we would like to-what is there to them that lead us to the glory and praise of God? As Jesus suffered for us, so too can we find strength and faith in our suffering and pain.

For You O Lord we will endure and find that Your hand is ready to lift us to You as we give to You our everlasting love and praise. Amen.

MONDAY

Easy come, easy go. We all could have a different perspective of what we earn at our various vocations and jobs though the motive for what we do with what we have been given should be all the same: all for the good of others.

Let our yes mean yes and our no mean no as we pray Lord Jesus and keep our hearts fixed on You. Let the work we do, let all we are and do be for the good of others and for Your glory and honor and love. Amen.

PALM SUNDAY

What we think of when we suffer can certainly be of great consequence-the loss of a family member, great illness or disease, tragic family concerns-all bring us pain and suffering. That's what Jesus suffered for us through His persecution-the pain and anguish as He took on the sins and pains of the world. As Pilate released the murderous prisoner and delivered Jesus to be crucified,so too does God deliver us to redemptive suffering. Ours is not an easy faith but a faith worth every step of the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Deliver us O Lord we pray not as we would will from the pain and suffering but as You would have us live for the good of others, for the sake of His sorrowful Passion and that of the whole world. Amen.

SATURDAY

When we pray, we offer our thoughts and hearts for what we believe we would want from our Lord in response. Often that means a huge change in our lifestyles-a renewed spirit in us-something that means giving in to Him and humbly following His plan for us.

As we pray, O Lord, so shall we pray to give You control and let You lead us along Your way. Free us from our attachments, our weaknesses and our temptations so that we may more clearly see the road to You, not only for ourselves but for the good of others. Amen.

FRIDAY

Getting outside ourselves and getting into what Jesus Christ would have for us is not easy. Having just a small portion of the faith He has in us will make that journey so much easier. Like so many other things He wants for us, all we have to do is ask.

Holy is Your name O Lord and glory we give to You as we humbly pray for the strength to follow You, no matter the cost. Help us to be obedient to Your Word so that the reward of eternal life might be ours with You. Amen.

THURSDAY

Love hurts-though not always. So do the crosses we bear bring us pain. As we come to serve Jesus Christ, we learn the hard way that to follow Him is to deny all that is us and carry the cross He has for us. That love He gives us from that cross never hurt so good.

Try as we might Lord Jesus, let us not put down our cross no matter the cost. Let us take that next step in love with You so as to know more fully the pain You share with us as we grow in renewed spirit of faith, hope and charity. Amen.

WEDNESDAY

Taking something to heart brings it inside to stay inside, not to use once or twice then discard. That's the beauty, the love and the glory we find in the grace of the scriptures. Pretty simple way to find our way into discipleship-the hard part is to actively live it.

As You told Your first disciples Lord, "If you remain in My word, you will truly be My disciples, and you will know the truth and the truth will set you free." help us be set free from the things of this earth so that we may be found always in You. Amen.

TUESDAY

Jesus has told us in a number of ways that we are either with Him or we are not. What is our choice today: do we believe in all things Jesus Christ or are we waiting for a better offer?

Lord Jesus, as You reveal the Truth, the Way and the Life to us, may we come to live in You more and rely less on ourselves less. Amen.

MONDAY

In a world that puts so many things before the good of others-selfishness, egos, darkness, materialism and even hatred-we can be guilty too often of turning away from those in need. Sinners we are, it is not ours to judge nor condemn but to love and to give without counting the cost.

We pray that we are pulled from the darkness of death O Lord just as You brought back Lazarus. Unwrap us from the bonds that keep us bound from helping others and that keep us from loving You as You love us. Amen.

SUNDAY

What it takes sometimes is for us to see God's power before we feel His power. What if we kept that expectant attitude of faith and just knew that His love was forever and unfailing?

All is done for Your purpose O Lord yet we do what we can to make it ours. Help us take what we cannot see and make known to our hearts and live it out in Your love as children of Your kingdom. Amen.

SATURDAY

Yes we are with Him or no we are not. There is no grey area in our faith. And it is certainly not a faith for the faint of heart or the cowardly. Remain steadfast and stand for what you believe; no One can love more than He.

We pray in confidence and with hope that no matter the cost or the trial our hearts remain burning in Your Sacred Heart of Love O Lord. Amen.

FRIDAY

A prayer life taken for granted is hardly a prayer life at all. Don't let the time you take to pray be less than what God expects from you. After all, don't you expect the best from Him?

There is great joy in a prayer life that brings life to a heart and soul. We give You thanks and praise O Lord for shining Your light in our lives through the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

THURSDAY

We choose what ails us; we either take the time to do something we want or we take the time to do something we need. So it goes with our faith and prayer life-we choose what fails us.

We pray that our hearts are strengthened with Your love O Lord and not weakened by our lack of courage and faith. Guide us to the place of holiness that only You know for us and we know with You. Amen.

WEDNESDAY

Hearing the Word and following it makes all the difference in our lives. An eternal life with Christ is a fulfilling life on earth, an emptying and filling each day of humility and grace.

May we go forward each day in humility, trial,  and grace Lord Jesus as we live out our lives for the salvation of souls as we give glory to Your name. Amen.

TUESDAY

It is the needs of others we should tend to even apart from our own. It is a both-and life in that we love as God would have us love Him and others, caring for them as we would care for ourselves.

That joy we find in You O Lord is revealed as we touch those lives we see Your face and bring us all into Your grace and peace. Amen.

MONDAY

Somewhere, each day, someone is being baptized into the Church. As a priest, prophet and king, we all come into the Church, cleansed of our original sin. Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead so that this would be our destiny-eternal life with Him. How are we doing so far today-and looking ahead-for our love for Him?

We can't do this world, this life, without You O Lord, our Rock, our Redeemer. We are given new life with our baptism and new life with the Body and Blood we share with in the Eucharist. Show us the Way we have in You now and forever. Amen.

SUNDAY

Judgments, prejudices, biases-not only do they get in the way of loving our neighbor, they keep us from loving God above all else. Like elbows and noses, we all got 'em and they all get in the way of others businesses as we poke and nudge our way around, as if we were so much holier than the rest.

Lord Jesus, we entrust our lives to You as we pray to remove those challenges of judgement, of prejudice and of bias as they get in the way of love of neighbor and of You. Through our faith and through reconciliation, we believe that the sins we commit because of them will be forgiven. Amen.

SATURDAY

We don't know a lot of things-even about ourselves. That's why we turn to God to find out more about Him so that we may be more in love with Him. He can then unfold those mysteries that are about Him, about us and our relationship with Him. All we have to do is say 'Yes.'

As Mary gave her 'Yes' to You O Lord, let our faith be as trusting and as deep so that we may come to know and obey in our love and understanding. Humbly we pray to do Your will as our will becomes Yours. Amen.

FRIDAY

The challenges we encounter are far easier to handle with help than they are to go them alone. Jesus brings together those in need and those who know their need to share His love and bring about the greater good.

Faith and prayer guide the Way for us Lord Jesus. Our trust is in You Who opens the way to salvation as we trust in our victory with You. Amen.

THURSDAY

No matter the resistance we face, God has much more for us in love, in mercy and grace than temptation, than evil, than darkness, than sin ever has or ever will.

Lord Jesus, You have conquered death and sin through the cross of salvation. May we gain strength through Your miracle of the resurrection and renewed by Your love for us. Amen.

WEDNESDAY

Will we or can we be saved? We will be saved if we can humble ourselves enough to love God more than anyone or anything else we know or have. Jesus did such by dying on the cross; we can do such by dying to ourselves and taking up our cross and following Him.

Lord Jesus, You died to give Your life for us. We pray that we carry our crosses courageously no matter the cost as we follow Your Way, Your Truth and Your Life. Amen.

TUESDAY

There is no limit to the forgiveness that God has for us. (This does not mean we should take each opportunity to put ourselves in a need to seek it!) What it does mean is that as much as He forgives us, we should forgive others.

Your mercy endures forever O Lord and we pray that our hearts are open and full of Your mercy to share then the forgiveness and compassion with others, no matter how harden our hearts have become. Amen.

MONDAY

If we but get out of His way, God has such great plans for us. It's when we put our plans before His that life gets messy. In so many beautiful ways and in so many different ways, God's will is made known to us. We choose each day, each moment, to accept His love, His will.

With humble hearts we come to You Lord God so that we may know Your will for us. Prepare us for the day to see and know the way You would make for us and give up ourselves for You and for all in Your holy name. Amen.

SUNDAY

Our hearts can be hardened each day by the strangers and passers-by we choose to walk past each day. Instead, let our hearts be open to live and love more as the Shepherd guides us all to our salvation.

You are our Lord and our strength O God. We praise You and give You thanks for this day-let our hearts be gracious in response with love and kindness to all we see in You. Amen.

SATURDAY

No matter how many times we may turn our backs to Him, no matter how far we may run from Him, God's infinite and ever-reaching love and mercy is always within our reach.

As deep as our pain may be or as ugly as our past has been O Lord, help us to see through it and come back to You and seek what we have lost. Blessed are those who seek Your mercy and forgiveness for they will be comforted and forgiven we pray-Amen.

FRIDAY

Wanting something too much can blind us to what our needs are as opposed to our wants. Indeed, greed blinds us and can kill us if we lose control of what our faith has given us.

Help us to see Your love and law O Lord not just in the things we seek but for all those things that would bring others closer to You by our faithful witness. Amen.

THURSDAY

We do not live only for ourselves-at least we shouldn't be. What we have, we give. Who we are, we are accountable to God. We give as we are then, accountable to God.

Lord Jesus, may our lives be transformed according to the love of our hearts as we give not for Your or others to see but for only the grace for those in need. Amen.

WEDNESDAY

Humbly, we are called to be God's servants. Unconditionally, we are called to love. Serving and loving as we are called is no guarantee of our salvation though it does make for a decent disciple.

Loving God and Father, let our lives be as You have called them to be so that we may be safe in this world and for life everlasting with You in the next. Amen.

TUESDAY

How to be a saint is to live in holiness. Easier said than done as we might offer in return. It's not that practice makes perfect as it is so much that practice makes permanent. That saints never made a mistake is a mistake to say already. Do good, avoid evil and will the good of others is a good practice to follow on your way to sainthood.

Lord, we pray for Your mercy and forgiveness as You afforded for the saints who surround You. Help us see through our own sinfulness as we make our way toward our salvation, putting our will aside and following Yours as we take up our cross each day. Amen.

MONDAY

With harsh judgment there come harsh relationships. Walls that keep us from growing instead of bridges that are made for compassion. The call is ours: to block the progression or to let others be served by our openness and compassion.

We pray for the Your love O God to live in true faith and wisdom. Grant us the insight You would deem us worthy of so that we may humbly serve as the bridge of compassion. Amen.

SUNDAY

People get under our skin and we get under theirs. Family, friends and particularly those we call our enemies. Somewhere, sometime, there has to be that coming together to let our wills go and let God's will be done-in love, in forgiveness, in faith.

We pray for Your love to be in us and for others we love O Lord. And as far as it depends on us, let Your love be our guide, our source of life in all we are, say, think and do. Amen.

SATURDAY

Ego is as ego does. So it goes with ours-let us get out of our own way so that God may be fully in us and be the only way for us so that we will be only for Him.

Let us glorify You O Lord by the way we live and give of ourselves, not about us but about Your compassion and grace unbound. Amen.

FRIDAY

Left alone, reconciliation can do very little without forgiveness. As well, the adverse is true: as much is forgiveness is for us, we cannot forgive ourselves. The love God has for us is inseparable-the power of His healing grace comes with  forgiveness as we offer Him who we really are.

Lord we come to You in our pain and sorrow, in our sins and our darkness. With what faith we have, we hand over to You our will so that Yours be done, to love You more than myself and no other more than You. Amen.

THURSDAY

Maybe you've experienced or have had too much of a good thing in your life. Our relationship with Jesus Christ will never be too much of a good thing; His abundant grace will always be there for our taking, no matter our fullness of ourselves-or our emptiness.

Lord we pray that we keep our hearts and minds close to Your love, no matter how we might stumble or seek to do our own will. Let it Your grace pour out upon us now and forever. Amen.

WEDNESDAY

Structure and instruction: putting things together, it helps to have both. Much like our lives-and faith-it helps to have both to keep our moral compass from wavering.

As our hope for salvation Lord Jesus, we pray that we keep our hope in You, following Your path so that we may celebrate life eternally with You. Amen.

TUESDAY

With abundant blessings, each day is given to us as gift. Not of our doing but as God would have for us. How we respond is what we give back for the grace He gives us. That response takes more than words-it takes our example as Jesus taught us.

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen.

MONDAY

Whatever we think about what happens when we die is just that-our opinion. The real deal is that we best live our lives for what happens when that time comes-better to be set for eternal glory than to be toasting our buns elsewhere.

Let our love be proclaimed in word and deed, Lord God, as we give up our lives to You for You alone are who we serve. Amen.

SUNDAY

God's love doesn't stop when we stop loving Him when we sin. That's how He works: He wants nothing more than for us than to be in the fullness of His love, even if it means for us to come back to Him through the filth, the slime, the evilness and darkness of sin.

Lord, You sent Your Son Who knew no sin so that we would be saved from our own sinfulness. We pray for the courage to bear the cross of our forgiveness so that we may come to know more of Your love through Your Son. Amen.

SATURDAY

It is not our way that we should share with others to follow but the Way of Christ that will lead us all to salvation.

Hold us fast to Your Word O Lord and lead us not into temptation but to the Way of salvation with You - not for anything we do or say but only for Your grace. Amen.

FRIDAY

To starve ourselves does us little good other than to shed a few pounds if we think just of ourselves. Putting a purpose to it-sacrificing a meal to deepen our relationship with Jesus Christ will bring us an even greater reward-if not a healthier lifestyle to go with it.

As we go about our path this Lenten journey O Lord, let us be more about You and less about us as we seek to empty our hearts to be filled with the common good with Your extraordinary love. Amen.

THURSDAY

It's more than our challenges and trials we bear in our crosses-it's the love and grace that goes with them.

We pray that we bear willingly our burdens O Lord and grow in Your love and light so that we may steer clear of going our own way in the darkness. Amen.

ASH WEDNESDAY

What a time we have this Lenten season to turn from those things we would otherwise continue to do. By prayer and by fasting and by doing and by being, we can find ourselves in a greater state of faith and love if we would but do and be good and avoid and say no evil.

We put our lives at Your will Lord Jesus, now and for this Lenten time to do Your will. We pray that our sacrifices and virtuous way of life may be pleasing to You so that when we celebrate Your resurrection, we may realize a closer love with You. Amen.

TUESDAY

There is no joy like that joy of the love of God. As St. Augustine pleads 'our hearts our restless Lord till they rest in You' so too does the fullness of joy come when we proclaim His love completely.

Lord, You sent Your Son to deliver us from our sins so that we would forever share in eternal joy with You. Let our hearts proclaim our love and faithfulness now and forever through the tenderness of Your grace. Amen.

MONDAY

If we are to trust God, we trust Him all the way. It's not supposed to be a 50/50 sort of deal or anything along that line. We're all in, as it were. As the disciples focused on the kingdom and salvation, so should we be making our path toward holiness 100% for ourselves and those in our lives.

Your loving care O Lord will guide us with grace and love as we submit with obedience to Your will. Give us the courage to trust and see the path that You see and not what we see and bring us to life everlasting with You. Amen.

SUNDAY

There is a preferential love we have and it shows when it is made evident with our children and our families. Jesus shows the same when He loves us as His children and His family. Let us remind ourselves often of that love and embrace one another in the love He has given us.

Our hearts are ready and our arms are open to share and give to You what You have given us Lord Jesus. We pray that we will follow as You have shown us as we live and love fully and completely in Your most holy name. Amen.

SATURDAY

Selfish pride gets in the way of grace; grace keeps us from sin. God in His justice leads us back to Himself when we let go of the selfishness and our ego so that His grace becomes the way back to Him.

Blessed assurance we pray that nothing else gets in our way to You O Lord but the fullness of Your grace and the love and mercy You fill us with in our weakness and emptiness. Amen.

FRIDAY

We should all take our faith quite personally; it is what makes us who we are, more than what love makes us. Together though they form what God intended and intends us to be-His children-in love with Him and loving each other.

For all the people You have created O Lord, You care so much for us as Your child individually, seeking out our needs each day. We give You thanks and praise for such wondrous love for without You, we would know not such a power that You give. Amen.

THURSDAY

If it was just one small deed of goodness that we all did today, unnoticed as it were, how many lives would be greatly impacted by the outpouring of love that could carry on from one, single solitary act?

When we love unconditionally, Lord, others will do the same as You have shown us. Let our will be Yours and our love will also be Yours. Amen.

WEDNESDAY

Who we say that Jesus Christ is has a lot to say about who we are. How well we come to know Him will say even more to others the way we live our relationship with Him.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me, a sinner. Show me the way to everlasting life with You as I place my life in Your hands today. Amen.

TUESDAY

Virtuous living is challenged living-we must humble ourselves as we serve one another and realize the joy there is as we become more Christ-like.

Not as the world teaches Lord but as You lead us we pray that our hearts and minds and souls will follow all our days as we submit to Your will and not our own. Amen.

MONDAY

It's easy to love those we see as friends everyday and those we've grown with as family. What our true measure of faith and love shows is when we reach out to love the marginal and the unloved-even the unlovable.

Our prayer is our witness today O Lord, to be lived as we love-loving the ones without love-just as You have done, fully and unconditionally. Amen.

SUNDAY

It's not the 'what' that gets in the way of our love but the 'who'. We block the channel that fills us with what God would have for us to share when we choose to engage ourselves and not His love and grace.

We pray for the strength to follow Your will Lord Jesus as there is so much power in faith and prayer yet we go the other way when we most need it. As Paul notes, we do not do the good we should and fall into the darkness that we should not. You alone will guide us into the light. Amen.

SATURDAY

We are to become more like Jesus Christ just as the apostles did, in their love, their faith and their service. Wait--aren't those the same guys that doubted Him, turned their backs on Him, denied Him and then ultimately came back to Him seeking forgiveness? How good can He get for us!

Lord Jesus, Your divinity is beyond compare--our humanity struggles to grasp even the smallest of grace You have for us as there is nothing we do or say to merit such love. Help us to remain committed to You now and always and stay in You. Amen.

FRIDAY

Faith, hope and love and the greatest of these is love. To show that love takes much faith and the denial of ourselves. The more we do, the more the love of God will show.

Give us the grace to know Your word and Your will, Lord Jesus, so that we may sing of Your praises, glory and might. Amen.

THURSDAY

As there are as many people we may come to know and share our witness, there are more paths for us to attain our salvation as we come to know Christ Jesus. Who do we say that He is to us?

You are our gate to eternal life, Lord Jesus. We pray with the company of saints that we march on in unity in love and service as we proclaim Your Holy Name. Amen.

WEDNESDAY

With all that we might think that is wrong with the world-and yes, there is plenty of that to go around-there is even more that is right with it. It all begins with the love of God. We can choose to make that what is wrong, right; that what is poor, rich; that what is hate, love.

Let us hold true to that what our baptism promise give us O Lord, that tells us of the promise of eternal life with You as we live according to Your love with faith, with hope and with charity, now and forever. Amen.

TUESDAY

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

For those times we don't understand the coming and going, the in and out, the why and why not that God has for us-we must realize that God knows more what is good for us than we will ever come to imagine in a day, a week or a lifetime. Give it up-and give it all to God.

There is no sign greater for us than the grace You give us yet we look beyond it when we can't see You working in our lives O Lord. Let our prayers be aligned with Your will and let our hearts receive more fully the miracle of the Eucharist so that we will value more Your gift of eternal life. Amen.

MONDAY

It's not the easiest thing to do when doubt clouds our hearts to have joy at the same time. And that doubt can impact our faith-God are You hearing me? In His goodness and splendor, God hears us and will give us what we need as we trust in His love.

Lord God, Father of mercy and of grace, we put our trust in You so that our faith may grow, deeply rooted in You and to bear much fruit. Hear our prayers as we offer up our praise and petitions and thanksgiving. Amen.

SUNDAY

Daily good example, upright witnessing, true spoken word, prayerful and faithful strength--they all add up to our moral way of life. How else can we overcome those temptations that would keep us from our life in Jesus Christ?

There is greater peace in Your love O Lord, even as we fall You are there to bring us back to You. Grant us the grace and strength to be renewed in Your love as we pray in Your name. Amen.

SATURDAY

There are times we see the emptiness in the lives of others and try to cover the holes in our own. As a matter of fact, Jesus sees it every day even as we make excuses to those who love us most, yes even to Him who loves us more than anyone else.

Lord Jesus we pray that we turn our hearts toward You so that Your love matters most for us as we strive to live Your will. Amen.

FRIDAY

'I will tell you.' Just four words yet if we don't listen, we'll miss them or even choose not to hear them in our prayer life. Maybe they won't be those exact words but God will tell us in His time, His way, His will what His plan is for us.

Let our ears be open and our hearts be ready O Lord to follow and act on the plan You would have for us. Though it may not be as we had planned or as easy as we had hoped, we know you will give us the strength to carry on in faith. Amen.

THURSDAY

Putting ourselves in the place of God only demands that we make ourselves a god-not the best way to get what is expected of ourselves out of life as pride makes its demands on us.

Humbly we pray O Lord that the graces we receive far outweigh the pride that we choose to show as our way of life. Help us see the reality of Your love as we come to know Your blessings in our lives. Amen.

WEDNESDAY

An authentic faith is not too concerned with the airs about us and the external stuff that is called 'faith' as it is with what is given, lived and loved as a way of life.

It is by our fruits we are known Lord Jesus and by our hearts those fruits we share. We pray that we may live an authentic life of faith and holiness that is worthy of Your love and our salvation. Amen.

TUESDAY

We too often look to the future for the next big miracle when the greatest one we have is at the end of our nose-the grace God gave us for the day we have in Him.

Let us pray each day O Lord for the glory and goodness that we find in You and praise You for we are wonderfully made in Your image. Amen.

MONDAY

Our bodies don't do well without salt, water or light. All in moderation will keep us in better condition and healthier to live at least without too much discomfort. The same can be said for our spiritual life-not enough will lead us into darkness with a thirst for the taste of what we once had in Christ Jesus.

We pray that we find the way from too much salt or too much water or too much light or not enough but just that balance in between where we find You to keep us in Your peace and comfort. Amen.

SUNDAY

By faith alone, it's hard enough to keep on our path of holiness. We are called to keep active in our faith-more than by our belief, we show it through prayer, through generosity, through justice and through love of our neighbor.

Lord Jesus, as we see You in our life and in our faith, help us see more of ourselves with a greater faith in You, serving and loving one another fully and unreservedly. Amen.

SATURDAY

We are corrupted by our own doing, not by the will of another who would have things go bad for us. And just as we are corrupted, we can also be made clean and renewed in the love and spirit of Christ Jesus. How's that for the beauty and grace of free will?

Lord You never said it would be a road full of grace and good will but one of that would be worth it would we just live according to Your plan for us. We pray then that our will be Yours and that we may live in eternity with You as Your will be done. Amen.

FRIDAY

No matter how we may sometimes think otherwise, the Truth always is and will always be the Truth. It is those times we must stand up for it just as all the saints before us have done.

God our Father, creator of all that we hold True, keep us obedient to Your love so that we may have hearts on fire that bring others to know Your Way, Your Truth and Your Life. Amen.

THURSDAY

Families have traditions, handed down over generations. Often they are written or handed over by word and deed. Through prayer and faith, what we have come to know and believe for over two thousand years is made most evident in the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.

Through the stillness and through the storms, we pray that our faith remains steadfast O Lord as we place our trust in You. Let it be that Your Body, Your Blood be the strength to carry us and increase in us the wisdom to know and to do what is right in Your light and be the beacon for others to come to You. Amen.

WEDNESDAY

How often do we pray and think that we are not like the 'other folk' we see along our paths each day? How thankful are we that we have been gifted with the gifts we have and not something less? That God has shown us His love in all that we have from Him?

How foolish we are O Lord to think otherwise of the gifts we have from You. Our faith, our families, our love that knows no bounds from You. Grant us the grace to see more of others and less of ourselves so that we may know more of the peace and love that is our salvation. Amen.

TUESDAY

Our faith is about believing and knowing what God can do for us and through us, not about what we think we can do for ourselves. Indeed, we are healed, directed, saved and given new life and peace through His power and love.

We praise You Lord Jesus Christ for Your cleansing power and grace as we are cleansed with our baptism and with Your redeeming love through reconciliation. Deliver us we pray from our own faults that keep us from being closer to You. Amen.

MONDAY

More than what we can ever comprehend, the love, grace, power and mercy of God is greater than anything we can even begin to think on. Once we get beyond ourselves and into what He can do for us, life becomes less fear-filled and more grace-filled with peace, joy and love.

As You granted grace and mercy to those who came to You possessed, You do the same for us Lord Jesus as we place our trust in You in prayer and in faith. As we humbly deny ourselves to follow You for the joys of heaven await us for salvation. Amen.

SUNDAY

How we express and live our faith is how we affirm our love for God. As much as His love is for us-for He is not ashamed to be our God-our love should be toward Him for we are His children.

Though we may not always see or know the presence of Your love, we pray for the confidence and peace to hold firm in our faith that You are with us through trials and through darkness and that we will rejoice with You in blessings and grace, O Lord, our Rock and Refuge. Amen.

SATURDAY

Looking at the day in front of us or what just has passed behind, we often take the perspective that it is all on us. In fact, much of it is. The greater part of it though is what God calls us to do and this is on Him-we do our part by following His will. How good is that to share?

Lord, what we are called to do and how we get there is not always what we want. We pray for the courage and strength to live Your will daily, especially in those moments when the challenges are greatest and we want to go it alone. Amen.

FRIDAY

Our faith is not our own in that we are grown in it from the love of Jesus Christ.

Remind and show us each day we have from You O Lord of the loving care and grace You take with us and how we should do the same with others. Amen.

THURSDAY

What we hear can be understood differently than what someone else heard. Our meaning and purpose for life is seen and heard from what the Holy Spirit gives us, not so much as the world would have us believe. How then do we respond to the Holy Spirit with so much around us?

Come Holy Spirit and fill our hearts with Your peace and joy. Let us remain steadfast in Your guidance and love as we still ourselves to hear Your Word for us. Fill us with the patience to endure our trials and the confidence to see them through. Amen.

WEDNESDAY

Stacking up what we want against what God would have for us, we often realize the difference in the size of the stacks. At first glance we would think ours is the better one but with even greater discernment and prayer, we come to find out that what God has for us is infinitely better--not just for now but forever. He is calling us to live not for ourselves but for Him and for others. He'll take care of the rest once we make that full-time commitment of faith.

God, we pray that we live each day for Your glory, recognizing the gifts we've been given and using them for the good of others. May our faith continue to grow as we share in the love You have for us, living out our baptism for the promise of Your kingdom. Amen.

TUESDAY

Following the will of God is as easy as falling off a log. But who wants to fall off a log? And who wants to take the more difficult path when we're already on an easy one? Like so many good things of life and love, the better they are, the harder they are to work for... and indeed they are so worth it.

Your will O Lord, Your love. No other way to get to You but through the Cross of Your Son Jesus Christ. And what He gives us is found in denying ourselves, taking up our own cross and following Him. We pray that our joy in life and love becomes such each day You give us. Amen.

MONDAY

Some days, we think we can get by on our way of doing things, using our own way of thinking and doing. And some days, it appears that we do just that. Yet in our deepest prayers and thoughts, we will come to know that Jesus has been with us the entire way, whether we would make that call to Him or not.

Let our hearts and minds be not separated from You Lord Jesus as we set out this day. There is nothing that we would do or say that cannot be done without Your guidance, Your love and Your peace. Help us to recognize from the beginning how much more we need You completely and not part-time. Amen.

SUNDAY

We get knocked down, we get back up. We lose our way, we find our way back. We get in over our heads, we swim in closer to shore. And the beauty and love of all of these conditions? If we find we can't recover from them on our own, Jesus Christ is there to bring us back. Ask Him. He's here.

In Your will is peace and mercy O Lord. Help us to remain faithful to Your ways by following the path You have for us and when we sin, forgive us and protect us from the harm we bring to others and to ourselves with Your mercy and grace. Amen.

SATURDAY

Lost in our differences and indifferences, we get disturbed by the actions and reactions of others. Our focus is on the individual or what they represent, as they may have opinions that do not align with ours. And that is what they are-opinions, right or wrong. God created all things good-unfortunately, the thoughts that we come up with don't necessarily reflect His goodness. Let us look beyond the thought to keep things in a faith-filled perspective. God is in control.

Let nothing disturb you, nothing distress you; everything passes,

God never changes; patience overcomes everything;

whoever has God lacks nothing,

God alone suffices.

Amen.

St. Teresa of Avila

FRIDAY

We need faith. We need prayer. Between the two, God will show us His will, our true needs only He can give.

How providential is our life should we but pray and trust in Your way Lord God. Let our faith be earnest and our hearts be burning only to please You. Let us pray that we live this day a God-willed day. Amen.

THURSDAY

There is power to be gained as we live our faith, realizing the fullness of the Gospel. As present and alive as it was when it was lived and written, it is equally so today as we put ourselves in the spirit and wisdom of God.

Reach within our hearts Lord Jesus and let Your words come alive within us and inspire in us the passion to live as You did, in love, sacrifice, forgiveness and compassion. Amen.

WEDNESDAY

'How long O Lord?' we may sometimes cry out or even wonder when our wills do not match with His. The wonder and doubt would be less consuming and our faith more rewarding would it be that the practice of our faith-and will-were what He has planned for us and not what we have planned for Him.

Grant O Lord that we may see Your will more as the Way and Truth instead of those things we want for ourselves that keep us from Your grace. Let us be faith-filled witnesses to You and for You now and forever we pray. Amen.

TUESDAY

Our faith is not something to pick and choose what works for the moment. We live and love it with a wholeness of heart fully and completely as Jesus loves us the same-no conditions, no reservations.

Let all our thoughts, words and actions be done according to Your will as we choose to live our faith as You have shown us Lord Jesus, not a part-time faith as convenient to our will. Amen.

MONDAY

Beyond the ends of our noses, there are a few challenges we face each day to be renewed in our faith. It's our call-do we stay where we are and hold on to the past or do we reach for the freshness of faith that comes from the guidance of the Holy Spirit?

What good is our faith if we just have it in name only O Lord? We pray for the clarity and strength to move from what keeps us in the status quo so that we may more fully embrace the call to holiness from our baptism and live a life in You. Amen.

SUNDAY

What sin does to our heart and our relationship with God is far worse than what is reflected in the darkness that shows outwardly in our lives. As John the Baptist cried out-'Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world'-let Jesus Christ do the same for us today with reconciliation, contrition, forgiveness and love. You understand our hearts and minds Lord Jesus, far beyond any ways we can ever grasp ourselves. We pray for Your wisdom as we surrender our lives to You from our sinfulness and selfish ways so that we too will cry out 'Behold the Lamb of God who takes away our sins'. Amen.

SATURDAY

We may not have that sense of a 'worthy' heart all the time yet Jesus has it in His for us forever. No matter our sin, no matter our darkness or pride, we are never so far from Him to feel the touch of His forgiving hand of grace.

Lord Jesus, even as darkness covers our hearts, You uncover them with Your love and mercy only to wrap them with the warmth of Your forgiving love. May we always rise up when we fall to come back to You as You teach us to do the same for others who we have yet to forgive as well. Amen.

FRIDAY

How easy it is to think of ourselves when we have to face the greater challenges of life. The fullness of our faith comes when we put the goodness and faith of others before us as we trust in God's will to guide us as we do.

You made us Lord to love and honor You and love and honor one another. Help us to see more than ourselves as we bring peace to those in our lives and live out the Good News of salvation You give us each day. Amen.

THURSDAY

In our expanses of our thoughts and the lengths of our reaches, we are still limited by the confines of time here on earth. From the past to the future, we have only what is in between-today. With His kindness and generosity, God will give us all that we need should we just entrust what time He's given us to Him.

Incline our hearts not to our will but to Your will O Lord so that we may live a day pleasing to You and giving to others. Renew our minds and hearts with gratitude and humility and with understanding and strength so that we may give to emptiness only to be filled by Your love. Amen.

WEDNESDAY

As Jesus walked His journey, there were those who truly sought Him for healing and to listen to His wisdom. Though ours is not so much a fox-hole faith to use His mercy and grace as is convenient for us-though He would not deny the truly repentant. No matter where we are, let us always call out to Him to free us from the darkness of our desires that keep us from His love.

We pray our minds and hearts are set like flint on You Lord Jesus so that You will restore us to life each day in faith, hope and love. As St. Paul says, let us 'cast off our deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light' not for ourselves but for Your glory and the lives of others. Amen.

TUESDAY

Teaching with authority, Jesus makes an impression on our lives, one we can choose to hold on to or one we can let pass us by.

Let our prayers be those that keep us in regular and intimate contact with You Lord Jesus so that not only do You know where we are but that we know that we are closer to You in love and faith. Amen.

MONDAY

Jesus had no need to be baptized other than to show us His humanity-not in sin but in love and service to mankind. As we serve others humbly and compassionately, we too show our humanity as did Christ, opening our hearts for the good and love of others.

For two thousands years O Lord, we have known the divinity and humanity of Your love for us. Our covenant with You is in the love of them both as You shared Your love on the cross to lead us to eternal love with You. Amen.

SUNDAY

Even with all the parables that Jesus spoke, His best work was spoken by the way He lived what He preached. Jesus led by example, from His sinless baptism to His forgiveness of those who hurt Him. We can hardly match Him but we can certainly put ourselves in a position to be more than we are doing.

Our burdens are way too much more than we can bear O Lord yet we find ways to struggle rather than share them with You. Open our eyes and loosen our hands to let us see and hand over the things we cannot bear and know that You alone can make our burdens easier to bear. Amen.

SATURDAY

As much as we think we can get around even in the darkness of our own surroundings, nothing helps like even a little light to help guide us in the darkest of times.

Lord we pray for the light of Your peace and comfort to be with us for those times we disregard Your presence and take our will against Yours. Help us to see more clearly the path You would have for us in the light of Your Truth and Way. Amen.

FRIDAY

What we look for depends on our status: if we lost something, if we want something,  or if we truly are in need of something. It could even be all three that bring us to our search. With our faith, it could be that we lost it, want more of it and or find ourselves in need of greater for some. That's where the joy of the Christ Jesus comes in-He's the Way, the Truth and the Life for us always. He finds us when we can't seem to find ourselves... or Him.

Remember us O Lord as we lose our way to You. For You are the source of grace and life when we are in darkness and You free us from our sins and lead us to the way of lasting peace. Amen.

THURSDAY

How long it takes us to find something often depends on our perseverance. Once found, how long is it before we lose it again? Our faith can be that way if we live outside the narrow ways of our path toward holiness.

Lord we pray for the fortitude to constantly search for You in our lives, bringing a deeper reality of faith and grace to our relationship with You. Amen.

WEDNESDAY

Our path to holiness can only be strengthened as we encourage others to follow the light of Christ. And that can happen as we share the love and fellowship of our faith as we reach for those hearts that have been broken and lives that have been wounded, letting them know that Jesus can make them whole.

As You know all the world and universe O Lord, You know as well our hearts and our minds. We prayer for the healing and renewing of life among us all as You would will for us and the comfort and mercy of Your grace as we call upon You to cover us in Your peace, now and forever. Amen.

TUESDAY

If we expect our peace and joy to come from others, we'll often find our wait time to be just a little south of forever. Trusting that our faith in Christ Jesus will forever fulfill our expectations as we place our hopes and faith in Him will bring us the joy and peace we'll find no place else.

We pray for the freedom in the Truth and Life we find in You Lord Jesus. The world does not hold our faith nor does it keep us from You-we do that ourselves. Let our desire and commitment be only to courageously love You. Amen.

MONDAY

Day after day, moment by moment, we could do better in our humility. And at the same time, show more of our excitement and faith for what we believe. Humbly serve and enthusiastically proclaim the glory of God-what a way to start the New Year, if not renew our lives each day.

We pray for our humble service to Your will Lord Jesus so that less of us is more of You in our lives. Help us to withdraw from those things that keep us from You so that we may bring others to You in love and service, all for Your glory. Amen.

SUNDAY

NEW YEAR'S DAY

Where we find ourselves now does not necessarily mean we must find ourselves in the same place or situation in a day, a week or month or year from now. Let this be the beginning of faith-filled, practical and trusting relationships in prayer and in peace, knowing that God's love knows no bounds for us, with His grace and care at the end of our hands, reaching out to His.

Let our prayers be a true witness of our trust in You O Lord as we live out our lives as prayers in witness to You. Each day and each moment, let us give so that others may come to know the 'poorness of spirit' to be filled with richness of Your grace and peace. Amen.

SATURDAY

The order we serve should never have us first. Faith comes before we go about our business then we can figure out the steps from there. The more we serve Him in faith and prayer, the more He opens ways for us to answer and live out His will.

Let Your will be done O Lord and not as we would want. Save us from the turmoil we make of life and guide us into the way everlasting with Your divine love and Good News of salvation. Amen.

FRIDAY

Do we really give ourselves a chance to the see the glory of God each day? How conscious are we of the gifts we see around us that so often we take for granted? Now more than ever let us see the Christ Child in one another, in all we are, in all we have and all that is to come.

In gratitude, praise and service we humbly come to You, Lord Jesus in prayer and thanksgiving not only for Your gift of life on earth but for all that we have in You, for the gift of eternal life in the forgiveness of our sins, now and forever. Amen.

THURSDAY

A cup of hot coffee. Or some hot chocolate or energy drink. Maybe a donut or a power bar to start the day. How often do we get the day going with a sampling like that we call 'breakfast'? Yet where is our faith and our prayer life to go with it? No greater power, no greater energy can be found than in Christ Jesus.

As the saints had so much faith in You Lord Jesus, let us have such great faith as well as we place our trust in You. Guide us this day and always with the patience, trust, hope and the energy found only in You as we wholeheartedly do Your will and not our own. Amen.

WEDNESDAY

We get in the way of each other's love-more importantly the love of God- when we put up our walls of anger, of frustration and even of hate. What makes the difference is when we realize the emptiness of our pride, our ego and our insecurities is all Satan-driven to keep us from the love of God and the love of one another.

We pray that our emptiness is not about us any more O Lord than about the pain You suffered at the hands of others. We pray for the clarity of heart to see our own pride and set it aside to be filled with Your love so that we may love You and others more than we do ourselves. Amen.

TUESDAY

One small light can chase away the darkness of the night. Our faith is the same-a bit of light in our faith can bring us that much closer to the love of God. He's the Light and the Way; we've but to choose then to make our will His and follow Him.

True peace and comfort are with You O Lord. Let our prayers be centered on a life that grows in You and for You for Your great glory, now and forever. Amen.

MONDAY

How do we live our faith? Is it outwardly enough to be seen as a believer--so much so to die for it? There is no middle of the road with our faith; we are with Christ Jesus or we are not.

Lord Jesus, You told us that we should be one or the other-hot or cold-or that You would spit us out of Your mouth. Let us not be lukewarm about our love and faith in You as we embrace You and sacrifice all we are now and always. Amen.

CHRISTMAS DAY

SUNDAY

If we knew of our genealogy that went back so many generations, we might be surprised of the ancestry we would find. Kings or queens, slave or free man. Yet if we dare go far enough and scripturally enough, we'll find that our lives all come from the King of Kings, whereas we are all slave and free because of His sacrifice for us.

Lord Jesus, You laid down Your life for us from the day You were born for us in a manger. May we recognize You as the God of the Living-not of the dead-so that our lives may follow You to eternal salvation. Amen.

WEDNESDAY

Lukewarm coffee or soup—for some they are not too tasty. Like many others, the coffee and soup are best served hot. Not too hot to partake in but hot enough to savor their flavor. If our faith life were such a state, lukewarm sometimes, steaming hot at other times, what would people see in us?

Hot or cold, on or off, we wax and wane with our faith Lord. There is but one way to live and that is with You and in You. Each day, let us be renewed in Your love and grow more in Your wisdom as this will be our life in coming to meet You. Amen.

TUESDAY

Authority on earth is one thing and yes, we must follow those rules and sanctions that are made to keep us safe and others as well. The Authority of our eternal life though is what matters most and makes a great difference in how we accept the authority we have around us.

In Your power, glory and majesty O Lord, You reign supreme. You rule over humanity and will for us the good of all. We pray that our will becomes Your will and that for all of Your creatures, great and small, we find the peace and comfort of Your love. Amen.

MONDAY

As John the Baptist spoke the Truth fearlessly, so should we. He did not compromise his faith nor should we compromise ours in exchange for anything less.

Lord, we pray for the strength to live in faith and Truth when challenged by the world and its emptiness. There is salvation in following You; help us live in that fullness. Amen.

SUNDAY

There is not much that gets in our way more than our ego when we come to serve our God. How we are called to be humble servants makes for good copy but if we don’t follow the print and word from the Scripture, we are sounding like little more than the banging and clanging of cymbals.

We pray O Lord that our words support our deeds and our deeds are reflected by the Truth of Your Gospel. Let all we say and do and be all reflect our image in You. Amen.

SATURDAY

All we have, we have from God. How we use what we have should be a response to His kindness and love for us, not for ourselves. As we have been given, so should we share.

With all we have from You Lord God, help us see the grace in the gifts each day, in the successes and the trials. As we lose ourselves to You we may more clearly and fully receive the graces You have for us. Amen.

FRIDAY
What we value we tend to take care of more than those things we take for granted. We have a greater value placed on our faith than we would for mowing the yard, or at least we should. Loving our family more than the ball game that's on the television. Look at the value Jesus places on us--each of us. Even in our unworthy state, His love still remains the same.
Lord, You have taught us and inspired us by Your love. By following Your example may we come to know more fully the value of loving You, loving one another and loving ourselves as You faithfully love us. Amen.

THURSDAY
Compared to how others might live, most of us have a pretty decent go of things. Just as we have been created in His image, let us not complain then of what path He leads us on; let us be grateful He lets us choose as good as He gives us.
All roads lead to You O Lord. For this we are humbly grateful. Help us then to let go of what keeps us from moving more along the path You would have for us than the path we would choose for ourselves. Amen.

WEDNESDAY
Coming up against fears, we can fight or flight. As witnesses to our faith, as did the apostles and those martyrs before, we may be called to give up our lives in the Name of Jesus Christ. How prepared are we to stand that gap?
Lord Jesus, on the cross You gave us Your life for the sins of the world. Let our meager offering be accepted for the sins we commit today and if called upon, give us the courage to be the next live and die for You. Amen.

TUESDAY
We get ourselves in too many binds by saying one thing and doing another, especially if those things are untrue and lead us to sinful ways. No one is perfect yet we should strive to be so and keep ourselves in such a position to live to be holy as our Father in heaven is holy.
Lord God, we know that all happens for the good of those who love You. Let our lives happen according to Your will and not our own, living in truth and in love and peace. Amen.

MONDAY
That joy that comes from the realization when we see the fruit of God's will in our lives is unmatched by anything we find by our own will. What matters is that: being true, being faithful to His will and we shall forever see the goodness of the Lord just as Mary proclaims.
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord. My spirit rejoices in God my Savior for He has looked with favor on His lowly servant. The Almighty has done great things for me and holy is His Name. Amen.

SUNDAY
Taking a breath of fresh mountain air, the love of a grandchild's smile, the sound of a beautiful symphony--all that we might take for granted were it not for the love God has for us. The gifts given us from Him we should share generously and selflessly as He has given to us, for the good and life and love of others.
Lord we praise You for the glory and majesty that Your spiritual blessings bring. Thank you for the grace we have from You as we humbly serve and look to live out our lives in the peace of Your kingdom. Amen.

SATURDAY
How often is it that we truly put others before us in love and in life? Spouses, families, friends, strangers-all are the face of Christ Jesus who was the greatest servant of all.
Lord we pray that as You put others first, let us also serve as You did. Let our words and actions be pure as we seek to serve the needs of others and the least we see and put them first. Amen.

FRIDAY
Some act as if the Commandments are just the opening bids or offerings, as though they were merely some sort of parameters or suggestions instead of true Commandments. Without such structure they offer, how can one then live with character, principle and virtue in their lives?
Not as we would have it for ourselves but as You would lead Lord. We pray for the clarity and wisdom to see the path before us to witness to the Way, the Truth and the Life as we love others as You would have us love. Amen.

THURSDAY
There is the good we have in our lives when we make if for ourselves and then there is the good God brings us when we let Him show us how good life really can be with Him. All it takes is saying yes to His invitation.
With Your goodness and kindness O Lord, we give You thanks and praise for all that we are and have. Let Your light continue to shine upon us as we give humble service to You and those You bring to our lives, sharing the blessings of grace and faith. Amen.

WEDNESDAY
If it's true that God has His hand in everything, what does coincidence have to do then with our lives? Might it be that we live more in a world of providence and free will than happenstance and chance? As we continue to be made in Your image and likeness
O Lord, let us be mindful of all the work yet to be done. As we offer thanksgiving and praise for Your kindness and mercy, awaken in us that burning desire to choose Your will and live out the work You began in us. Amen.

TUESDAY
Having things is okay, in a material sort of way. It's when that sort of way overcomes us and we don't attach ourselves to our faith and find out we are more attached to the things than we are to the grace that brought them to us.
We praise You with our whole hearts and ask that You help us see more to life than the material and physical life we have O Lord. Awaken in us a life more worthy and evident in You, with joy and true happiness found only in Your love and grace. Amen.

MONDAY
How often throughout the day do we say or hear 'Oh, I don't care-whatever  you want is fine' or a thought or phrase along that line of thinking. More in fact, we really do care, whether it's where we go eat, what movie we see, the people we hang out with-the choices all impact our lives. Our choices of concern, our choices of worry, our choices of who we will live and love are all a reflection of our faith, our relationship with God. How much do we care for Him?
Lord, we know the source of all good is You. Let us be mindful of the choices we make, let us be true to You as we humbly share in our faith and witness, desiring nothing but eternal salvation with You. Amen.

SUNDAY
Seeing a friend or family member after a long absence does a heart well. Sharing our faith with them does our hearts and souls even better. The more we share in faith, the more we know in the grace and love of Jesus Christ.
Through Your life, death and resurrection Lord Jesus, You have given us a perfect model of sharing our own lives. Let us show others the fullness of life in You by our humble and contrite witness. Amen.

SATURDAY
Where do we draw the line when it comes to the needs of others and making it about ourselves? We've heard the talk about high-maintenance individuals but are we really the ones who take up the most air and space when it should be more about giving and grace?
Lord Jesus, show us the way to be Your humble children, closest to You and Your kingdom. Share with us Your mercy and forgiveness so that we too may know more how to forgive and show mercy to others. Amen.

FRIDAY
We can say we love someone and then go on about our way. Or we can say we love someone and then share the love we have through the way of love God has for us. One way is easy and gets some payback. The other is harder but the reward is so much greater.
In the fullness of Your Love, Lord, show us all the way to Your life, in faithfulness and in hope. May we all come to know the everlasting joy found in loving You and the joy of Your loving us. Amen.

THURSDAY
If you think your compassion and forgiveness is where it should be, think of the words Jesus shared with the thief on the cross. If Jesus can forgive him and even those that day, how can we learn to forgive those in our lives today of lesser pain, of lesser sin?
Teach us Lord Your ways of reaching out and at the same time of letting go of those things that keep us from loving as You love. Open our hearts to forgiveness and to choosing what to be truly compassionate about, and not to choosing what to carry in sorrow, unforgiveness and misery. Amen.

WEDNESDAY
Not that we need a reminder but it doesn't hurt to occasionally be brought up to speed on our need to be Christ-like. Especially for those times when we are farther from our path to holiness than what we should be.
Lord, we know how easy it is to see Your light yet so much harder at times to live in it. We pray that our lives become more like Yours so that we die more to ourselves to live more like You and rise to eternal life with You. Amen.

TUESDAY
When we are faced with the challenge of overcoming temptation, our faith should be what keeps us obedient to the Truth. The more we stand in the light of faith, the more we will be delivered from that darkness of sin.
Let Your light be the way for our path O Lord as we thirst for the fullness of Your love and life. As You have given us love, let us also live and give as we have been given. Amen.

MONDAY
We fall into enough traps on our own without the setups of others getting in our way. As we put ourselves in a position to be who Jesus calls us to be, we will also have a better path to journey with fewer traps and trials. And when they do come up, we'll be better suited to live out the Truth we know in Christ Jesus.
We pray that our lives will be present with You O Lord as we have been instructed by scripture and shown by Your life. Through generations before us and ages to come after us, let Your love shine through for the joy prepared for us in our salvation. Amen.

SUNDAY
What we 'love' and hold onto here in this world is of small concern compared to who and how we love and about where we spend our eternity.
There will be either hell to pay... or heaven to spend.
We give You praise and thanks O Lord for the confidence to love and share all that You have given us. Help us to remain steadfast and true to Your love for us as we witness Your power and majesty. Amen.

SATURDAY
There are times we see things right in front of us and find them hard to believe. The love of God can be like that when we submit our will to His and allow the miracle of faith to guide our lives.
Let our lives be led by the light of Your Truth O Lord as we give ourselves over to You, fully and completely, faithfully and always. Amen.

FRIDAY
It doesn't take much to keep another's love from touching our hearts. Yet it takes even less to have that same love envelope and fill our hearts. Let us say yes to the love of Jesus Christ everyday.
We believe O Lord in the power of Your love and grace. Open our hearts to capture all You would have for us in Your faith, Your peace and Your mercy. Amen.

THURSDAY
Knowing of someone and knowing more about someone and wanting to learn more about them are two different 'knowings'. Where does our knowing take us in our relationship and prayer with Jesus Christ?
Lord we pray that we become more united with You in all we are and do. We pray to cooperate with Your will as we foster a community of love and peace all because of You. Amen.

WEDNESDAY
It's a humbling experience to ask for help, particularly when it's for someone else like a family member. How do we approach Jesus Christ in our prayer life when we ask for the guidance and help in our lives and that of others? Even then, what is our response if we don't like what we hear in return?
Lord Jesus, You know us more than we know ourselves. We pray that Your wisdom and grace will lead us to realize the path You would have for us so that we may know more fully and clearly the road You would have us follow. Amen.

TUESDAY
When we cannot seem to get a handle on things we don't understand, we sometimes blame the situation on others or on the circumstances around us. In fact, if we take a closer look, the handle may well be within our reach all along-in prayer and in faith-if we reach within our hearts and souls.
Lord Jesus, we open our hearts and souls to You to provide for us the way and will to love and bring ourselves closer to You. Be with us as we humbly make our will Your will. Amen.

MONDAY
We may think we need this or really want to have that but when it gets to the heart of the matter, the real heart of the matter is the love of God. He'll see to it that we will have all we need.
Let it be well, O Lord, with our hearts and souls as we submit to You all that we are and all that we have not just for this day but for all that we may have from You, now and forever. Amen.

SUNDAY
There is a miracle that we have everyday-reading this and knowing that God brought us here to do so is just one of them.
Lord, through Your wisdom and glory, we give You thanks and praise for the miracle of this day and if for another day we have, we owe it all to You. Amen.

SATURDAY
Our snap judgments can lead to issues we'd just as soon not have to deal with later, if not even those things we'll have to confess. Prayer can keep us from those types of decisions and closer to where God would have us be-living in His light and love.
Lord we pray for the daily wherewithal to see and hear Your call to receive the blessings You would have for us. Help us speak no evil, judge not our brothers or sister and to live more fully with grace and compassion. Amen.

FRIDAY
There are times that we can accomplish so much more by simply being than there is in all that we fail at in doing.
We pray Lord Jesus that we share in the peace of Your promise of salvation, not in the doing for Your grace and mercy but being like You as we trust and hope in Your love. Amen.

THURSDAY
As soon as we put ourselves at God's ready, we may not readily see the glory and beauty of His plan. That should not keep us from accepting the generosity and grace He has planned for us.
Lord, we pray that though we may not clearly see or even know the way before us that we come to know Your love and grace and accept the gifts You offer us, with joy and peace. Amen.

WEDNESDAY
Taking what we want from the world only takes up space around our houses and our yards. Gathering the love and the grace that God would have for our hearts and souls makes a lot more sense for us and our life eternal with Him.
Lord, You proclaim the kingdom of heaven is the treasure of our life time. Help us live as such here in Your kingdom on earth so that we know the glory of Your heavenly kingdom forever. Amen.

TUESDAY
Sometimes it is difficult to recognize the conditions that bring about the discord in our lives. Before we know it, the work of the devil is done and we're knee deep in it.
Let the peace beyond all understanding O Lord be with us always as we keep our hearts and minds centered on You. Amen.

MONDAY
Our rewards for the lives we share on earth will be immeasurable provided we serve the love and needs of others as Jesus has shown us.
We should have no excuses Lord yet we time and again we come up with them to lead us away from You. We pray for the grace to be true to You and to ourselves. Amen.

SUNDAY
Love on the surface is hardly anything more than just an appreciation for finer things. Like appreciating fine art, good wine or an operatic solo; always nice to have around and enjoy but nothing to last forever. The love of God will last forever-well beyond the last note of any aria, the last drop of any cabernet or any oil on canvas. Let our love for Him be the same.
Lord we pray for the fullness of love You have for us and have given us. We pray that our thoughts and deeds may always show this love and keep this love in our hearts, now and always. Amen.

SATURDAY
When all else fails, where do we turn? Do we try to make things happen on our own or do we happen to own those things and make our failures known to God and ask for His forgiveness? Forgiveness makes more things happen when stand up to and with the Truth.
With humble hearts and contrite spirits we pray Lord Jesus for the forgiveness of our sins as we live to do Your will and not our own. Help us to acknowledge the pain we live in and that we cause others by our sins of commission and omission. Grant that others may soon see Your goodness in us. Amen.

FRIDAY
We do let our emotions get in the way of our faith, even though emotions are indeed a part of our faith. It's when we let them lead instead of having our faith lead us that the problems arise and faith takes a back seat.
We pray for the courage and clarity O Lord for our faith to surround us when we are overcome with doubt. Let Your voice by our guide as we pray for mercy and grace to follow where You lead. Amen.

THURSDAY
We breathe in, we breathe out. Something as simple as that we take for granted when for others, their very breath is so hard to come by. The same could be said for our faith: how often do we take it for granted when we could spend more time in prayer and in scripture, bringing ourselves to an even greater width, depth and breadth?
Lord, You have shown us much and given us even more. Kindle within us a light that will guide us from the shadows of our darkness of sin and lead us to a greater understanding of our faith and relationship with You in faith, hope and love. Amen.

WEDNESDAY
We don't get things done or get where we want to go by sitting still and waiting for God to mow our yard or take out the trash or turn in the résumé for us. He gave us the wherewithal to accomplish those things; we can give Him our thanks and glory by doing them for Him, prayerfully and joyfully.
Lord, we are nothing without the grace You give us and the gifts You have bestowed upon us with that grace. As You have created us in Your image, we pray that all we do is for You and Your love. Amen.

TUESDAY
For all those other times we are lost-those times we choose not to admit because of our pride-it's okay to pray for the way out, no matter how deep we got ourselves into the darkness.
As You love us Lord, we should love You and trust You. Let nothing come between our relationship of prayer and peace as we look to You for guidance, mercy and peace out of the darkness of our sins. Amen.

MONDAY
Our prayer life is neither the place nor the time for skepticism to rear its ugliness and lead us into insincerity of heart. Though we may ask for signs to more fully understand God's plan for us, it is our trust and cooperation with His will that is the cornerstone of our faith in Him.
Not just when we doubt but for all our faith and prayers O Lord we pray that we become the holy ones You call us to be. Help our yesses to be yes and our noes to be noes as we more firmly profess our love and faith in You. Amen.

SUNDAY
Our love for one another seems to hinge on our love for ourselves. How we love ourselves is how we love the One Who made us-He transforms that love as we surrender our lives to Him.
Let us die to ourselves and live only for the love You have given us O Lord. For this and all things of You we pray. Amen.

SATURDAY
If the darkness keeps us from seeing what God has intended us to see, it might be that we've lost sight of His intentions and tried to make do with ours.
We pray that our lives are more than just inspired by Your life and Your Word Lord Jesus--help us to live and follow You as our teacher. Amen.

FRIDAY
Our faith is about believing and knowing what the Truth holds for us in eternal life. The Truth we live in Jesus Christ is the essence of that faith, found only as one follows Him.
Lord we pray that we as recognize the path You have for us in faith and holiness, we follow it not for a secular and worldly gain but for our eternal life with You. Amen.

THURSDAY
No matter our burdens, no matter our cross, there will be rest for our hearts and souls as we give them over in trust and hope to Jesus.
In our needs we pray Lord Jesus that all comes from Your power and might so that we may stay strong in our faith and love. Amen.

WEDNESDAY
We don't know the road that we'll travel tomorrow and the one behind us has given us all it can. Let God have His way with us so if tomorrow does come, we will know then the path He chooses.
We pray that we are worthy of the gifts You give us Lord, including those of life in You. Watch over us as we come to know Your will through Your patience and peace. Amen.

TUESDAY
Not that any of us ever refuse to forgive any one-perish that thought... but imagine if Jesus never forgave us for anything? How would that make us feel?
Our hearts and souls would be empty and alone O Lord, without the grace and mercy we would find in Your love and forgiveness. Teach us more of the humility we pray that is found in the forgiveness of ours sins and that of others against us. Amen.

MONDAY
We sometimes think what we do with our lives is our own business. And with that sort of thinking it's okay, provided we also carry our crosses, deny ourselves and have our business be the same as Jesus would have for us.
What You have placed in our lives Lord Jesus, we too often turn from. We pray for the love of the cross to be our will as we imitate what You showed us with Your life and sacrifice on earth. Amen.

SUNDAY
We would all do well to practice more of our charitable ways no matter who we would share them with. Love has no paths, no boundaries, no enemies.
Each day we are challenged Lord by the darkness of the world. We pray that we are shown the way by Your love to bring out the goodness of all You are-the light in the darkness-for these times when the world needs You most. Amen.
SATURDAY
It's not the material things that should matter so much but the matters of our hearts and souls that should show how much our faith really matters as we trust in the strength and peace of Christ Jesus.
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me, a sinner. As we call upon Your name, help us to live out the grace You have for given us for the good of others. Amen.

FRIDAY
As much as we seem to be ready for it, our faith is often stretched to the limits. Through temptation, persecution and tribulation, we get to see how deep not just how our faith is but more importantly, how far and how wide the love of God is always there for us.
Loving God and Father, our call is from You and for You to stand steadfast and courageous as we serve Your kingdom. Let Your Truth be with us as we answer You and follow You in word, deed and prayer. Amen.

THURSDAY
What we do sometimes to go out of the way to keep from sharing what God has given us... Truly all we have is gift from Him yet how often is it that we turn our hearts away from giving drink to the thirsty or food to the hungry? Let our first thought be to err on the side of charity.
You gave up Your life Lord Jesus so that our lives would be unencumbered by the weight of sin. Yet we choose to do just that by the way we live when we turn our backs to others and fall out of grace. Let our prayer be to live more fully in cooperation with Your will, to do as You would have us do, now and forever. Amen.

WEDNESDAY
What blocks the development of our relationship with Jesus Christ is not the lack of His answers to our prayers but the lack of our response to Him when He does.
Lord Jesus, we strive to be of one mind and body as we long to do Your will. Let our prayers be the same as we offer them to You as we look to grow more in Your love and in love with You. Amen.

TUESDAY
Being lost is not exactly a fun thing to be, even with the handiness of locator maps and GPS devices. Much like our faithfulness, when in the darkness of sin, the sooner we put ourselves at the grace of God, the sooner we'll find our way out of mess we put ourselves in.
With our self-centeredness and egotistical ways, we can always do it our way till it's too late, Lord Jesus. Then we turn to You to guide us back to safety of Your arms. We pray for the wisdom to stay the path with You now and always. Amen.

MONDAY
Some folks have it and you can see it in them though they don't make a big deal about it. Others humbly share it and make it their way of life. We all look to have it yet often don't know what to do with it once we get there, that peace that only Jesus can bring to us.
Not as the world will try to show us Lord yet only as Your love and peace may bring us shall we be ever longing. We shall praise Your glory and proclaim the wonder of Your power as You bring the light of Truth and lasting peace to a restless world. Amen.

SUNDAY
Even in the best of days, we still look for more of what God would have us be for Him. Not selfishly, not just for us but more importantly, for those who have yet to know the fullness of His love.
We pray O Lord that we continue to respond to Your call to go out and spread the Good News of Your love, to share in the peace of Your kingdom now and forever. Amen.

SATURDAY
There is enough going on personally, locally, nationally and worldwide that could keep us down if we let it, given the condition of things. Yet if we continue to counter those things and fill our lives with the fullness of grace  God makes available to us, not only do our lives change, those around us begin to do the same.
We know Lord, it is not the rose colored glasses that make the difference that we sometimes choose to see the world through. It is You who make all things new with Your power and grace. Let us not resist the challenge before us as we make a conscious effort to be merciful as You are with us. Amen.

FRIDAY
We are called upon to serve and be faithful, not to question whether or not we can do what Jesus asks of us. He's shown us before He's done quite well with a dozen of so fishermen, tax collectors and journeymen.
Even when we try in vain O Lord, You are there to guide us and revive us. Strengthen our desire, enliven our passion, burn within us the hunger to serve as You show us for all You bring to us. Amen.

THURSDAY
We have been given so much in our faith, we often don't know where to begin to give thanks for bounty before us. Yet those that have been cured, healed, forgiven or brought back to reality of love and life know what it's like. What about us who take more of what we have for granted--are we as thankful for life as those who have been renewed? Indeed we are thankful Lord for the gifts we have from You and for those that have been kept from us-both blessings beyond our comprehension. Strengthen more then the will within us to see how much more we can be formed in You to live like You in faith, hope and charity. Amen.

WEDNESDAY
Our faith, without question, tells us who we are. And with our actions, we tell others then who we are then by the faith we live. The question we ask ourselves each day: how deep is our faith in Christ Jesus?
As You died for us Lord Jesus, we pray that our lives are living witnesses to such faith You have in us. Each day we pray to die to ourselves and pick our crosses to follow You so that given the opportunity, we too will die for You. Amen.

TUESDAY
It's not that we necessarily go looking for things to go wrong or bring the storms to our lives-ample opportunities abound without having to search for more. Yet there are those days we put the cart before the horse and expect matters to improve on their own.
Lord, our faith is strong as our intentions too. Yet we too often want to carry out our will first and ask for Your help later. Have mercy on us we pray and come to our aid before we are overcome again. Amen.

MONDAY

To follow Christ takes more than just saying you are going to follow Him. It is letting go of those things that keep you in the past and grabbing hold of what He will bring you to with Him.

Lord, we will walk with You and talk with You, step by step. We pray that You will show us the Way as You make us more aware of those things of our faith, the life that is in You. Amen.

SUNDAY

There are those days we face that, turn after turn, we run into temptation after temptation and too often submit—even if just to one. Just remember, it ain’t over till it’s over.

For those days Lord we see the enemy and it is us, let us not despair. We pray that You let our hearts be opened to better understand Your plan for us. Amen.

SATURDAY

Outside of those prayers for ourselves, there are those that we should offer up for those in need we may not otherwise consider. What of those we pass by on the way to work? And those we see in line at the grocery store as they hurry to get in front of the next person? Make it a point to sacrifice with a humble heart in prayer that God gives them as He wills and that He also does the same for you.

Lord, we are all in need of Your mercy and grace yet so often do we try to make things better on our own. Through our prayers and trust in You, grant us the humility and trust to hear and see Your love more fully and faithfully. Amen.

FRIDAY
As we rejoice for all that God has done for us--gifts, talents, trials and tribulations--what do we give back to Him in thanksgiving? We could offer our prayers, in word, thought and deed for a start.
As You have shown us and taught us Lord Jesus, let us pray to God our Father to live His will according to His Word, not according to our how we would have things. Amen.

THURSDAY
Out of His kindness does the Lord open His heart for us, everyday, every moment, without any conditions. Imagine what our lives would be like if we did for Him as He does for us?
We give You thanks and praise O Lord for the goodness in our lives. Let us also be mindful of the constant love You have for us even though we often live otherwise. Amen.

WEDNESDAY
Just because we see others that succeed as they believe in the false works and emptiness of materialism doesn't mean we should hitch our wagon to theirs. We should be known by the company we keep--none better than the company we find in Christ Jesus.
Take away from us our pride and ego Lord we pray and fill us with a humble spirit so that we may come to know You and serve only You with faith, hope and love. Amen.

TUESDAY
Wouldn't it be great if the road to salvation was just a little less encumbered with trial and error-so many trials that lead to so many more errors on our part? We are blessed beyond measure that our God has a way of wideness in His mercy, of love and compassion that lightens our load and brightens the path to show us His Way.
We pray Lord Jesus that You stay present with us, in our hearts always to show us more clearly the path that is Your will and not our own. Through trials and sorrows, let us praise You always with humble and thankful hearts. Amen.

MONDAY
If there is anything we could all use more of, let's ask for mercy. And while we're at it, some major doses of forgiveness thrown in would do us well no doubt.
As we make our ways toward holiness and You O Lord, help us first remove those things that keep us from knowing Your love and knowing You--our prideful selves, our selfish hearts, our mercy-less egos--so that we may have a clearer path to see You along our journey. Amen.

SUNDAY
Who are we if we do not have Jesus Christ in our lives? As basic as the question is, maybe it can be answered with another: who is Jesus Christ to us in our lives?
Let there be no doubt O Lord of our love and faith as we surrender our love to You. Keep our hearts mindful and humble and centered on You as we follow Your will now and forever. Amen.

SATURDAY
What is it about those things we want to control but cannot? Or think we can yet have little if any say? Be it having sunshine and wanting rain or traffic lights green instead of red, we want to control things beyond our reach. We have so much more from God to be thankful for than to be concerned about things so fleeting.
We pray that we come to know Your wisdom Lord as it is far beyond anything we know or understand, no matter what we try to control or think we can control. Teach us that to follow Your path each day will bring us joy even through the trials and sorrow as You guide us with each step. Amen.

FRIDAY
What we claim to have as our own here on earth is of little note compared to what our Father in heaven will have to share with us if we but live to have that share today.
Lord You sustain as we place our trust in You. As we grow in our faith, let us see more clearly then the way to share in the love You have given us to share, bringing not just our hearts closer to You but to bring others to know You. Amen.

THURSDAY
Our prayers often reflect our needs as we petition God to ease the restlessness that clutters up our hearts. As He settles the unsettledness within, let us not forget to offer our prayers in thanksgiving and praise for the peace and calm that replaces that clutter in our hearts.
Lighten our hearts we pray O Lord to hear only the love and goodness of Your Word. May Your grace abound in us more fully to live in Your light as we give thanks for Your mercy and forgiveness. Amen.

WEDNESDAY
The harder life is the virtuous life yet it yields the greater reward.
Lord, You are our hope and strength to stay the course of virtue and humility. Be our rock, our stronghold as we stand fast against the challenges of our will against Yours and the world against us all. For these things and all that is holy, we pray in Your name. Amen.

TUESDAY
The peace and joy of Christ is impossible when we carry around the seeds of hate and revenge. Better to experience outwardly from our hearts what He has for us instead of the hurting and suffering that we tend to wear out on our sleeves.
God our Father, forgive our judgmental attitudes, our vengeful thoughts, our selfish pride as we instead come to know more of the peace found in Your redemptive love and grace. Amen.

MONDAY
Just because others go out of their way to be cold and heartless does not mean we have to follow suit; obviously there is plenty to go around. What better way to break the cycle than to live out the joy and hope we have that is our faith in Christ Jesus.
You have given us the Bread of Life Lord Jesus and have granted us the grace of renewal for all sinners as we turn our hearts to You. We pray to be mindful of our own heartless ways lest they keep others from coming to know Your love and truth. Amen.

SUNDAY
We often take on grief that is unwarranted as others let loose with their prejudice and anger. Jesus showed us best how to respond with love and compassion, not in the way as those who treated Him. For those times we are the targets, let us show in our own way the mercy and grace we've been given to share.
Lord Jesus, we pray that we are continually shown Your path of peace and mercy as we call upon Your strength and wisdom in times of need. Help us to see Your way and not our own to live at peace with everyone as You have shown us. Amen.

SATURDAY
As often as we are cleansed of our sins and cured of our illnesses, we are still subjected to the whims and wiles of the powers of Satan-if not more so as we near the light of Christ in our faith. All the more courage we need to withstand the onslaught that may come our way to faithfully humble ourselves before the power of God.
May our hearts strive for faith and love O Lord to serve You in holiness and humility, not for gain here on earth but for eternity with You. We ask this in unity with the Holy Spirit now and forever. Amen.

FRIDAY
Our faith is God's wisdom in how we live.
We pray O Lord for the ongoing grace to share with others the love and wisdom You have given us. Amen.

THURSDAY
Regardless where we stand along our preferences these days in the political environment, let us always stand virtuously with our faith, steadfastly affirming the dignity of life for all, living a Christ-like life.
We pray for Your mercy Lord for those times we have turned from those in need for our own purpose and good. Bind our hearts to Yours and bring us ever closer to life eternal. Amen.

WEDNESDAY
As difficult as it is at times to understand what God would have us do or be, what is never hard to grasp is that whatever it is will be better than anything we would do or be ourselves.
Lord, we may not know exactly where the path You have for us may take us-good for us to know that You know the way. We pray that with Your love that we no longer doubt but submit to the life You would have for us. Amen.

TUESDAY
Even as we stand in the shadows of our lives we can still see the light around us that casts our shadows. Christ is our light in that light; even in the darkness of our lives may we always find Him there.
Nothing in the darkness can overcome the light that is You O Lord. We pray that as You reveal Your will to us we may see more clearly the path from the shadows of our lives to the light we find with our life in You. Amen.

MONDAY
The deepest truth is the Truth of eternal life in Christ. The joys of life are nice but throughout our daily prayer and giving, let us realize that our lives are nothing without the life Christ gave us in His.
You made us to share our lives O Lord, not to be alone. We pray that we may learn more to be with one another in faith, in prayer, in love and in peace so that we may all share in the life eternal in Your majestic heavenly kingdom and the communion of saints. Amen.

SUNDAY
We too often let our worldly ways get in the path of our true love and compassion for one another. As Christ gave His life to us and for us, we should live as He showed us and be the same for others as He was for us.
We pray Lord Jesus that we experience our lives on earth as You lived Your life, with compassion, with love and with peace and understanding for the good of others so that we may show them a life eternal with You. Amen.

SATURDAY
How the love she bore changed the world is such a mystery yet we know that throughout her life, Mary showed how she took care of the Child Jesus, with kindness and gentleness and love. She gave of her life so that He would have life for us all. Forever we share that love with her as we pray.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

FRIDAY
What we are given, we should open ourselves to give in return. How Jesus affirms His love for us in so many ways-even in our trials and sorrows-so too may we affirm our love for one another as we share in the crosses of faith, hope and love.
We celebrate Your love and Your Sacred Heart Lord Jesus with prayer and humble adoration for the gifts we have from You. May we lead others to the genuineness of Your glory of eternal salvation as You bring us closer to the flame of Your merciful heart. Amen.

THURSDAY
With the greatest love of all, God shows His greatest gift of all-His love for us.
We give You thanks and praise Lord God for the gift of Your love. We pray that our love may be as purposeful and as giving as Yours has been for us. Amen.

WEDNESDAY
We look around for better ways to live more comfortably and to make our lives a little less encumbered by the hassles around us. What better way to rid ourselves of such mundane and routine aspects of life than to place our lives more fully in the trust and mercy of God.
Lord, we know the path we must live and often we put our hearts fully into Your way of life. We pray more for the courage to stand for You and for those who need You and the love You bring them. Amen.

TUESDAY
There is a difference in what we experience with the joy and peace found in the fullness of God's love and what we love in the passing things of the world.
Let our hearts be filled not with our desires of the world O Lord we pray but with the greater love You would have for us as You leave Your impression upon our hearts. Amen.

MONDAY
God won't deny His love for us. We are the ones who take that upon ourselves. That's the undoing of our happiness and our joy and our love for one another.
We pray O Lord for that ongoing communion with You that we may always know the fullness of Your love known only in daily prayer, sacrifice and our love with You and Your unconditional love for us. Amen.

SUNDAY
Nothing more, nothing less, can be exclaimed greater for us in our faith than the sum and substance that we receive in the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. This gift of our salvation brought to us in the Eucharistic celebration is the gift of all time for life for all time.
How thankful we are for this Body and Blood we share O Lord as You have shown us and given us to receive. Nothing compares to the gift we have in You and nothing can fill our hearts more than what we receive when we are nourished by You. How truly grateful and humbled we are for this gift we pray and look forward to life everlasting. Amen.

Fully alive is how we should be in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, though it is not always easy. Though we continue to grow, it is not without pain and tension. Where is the glory and gain if it were not for the trials we face and overcome?

Thank you for making this visit. For that, we continue to praise God for all He is to you and to us and for what He does for us all, being thankful to Him as Lord and Savior.

We do hope that you continue to find the pages are more about serving our Maker than the world. We continue to grow with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and with the fear of God, grounded in faith, hope and love.

2 Peter 1:10
Make your call and election firm, for, in doing so, you will never stumble.

We are people who are sinners like everyone else and know that God loves the sinner yet disdains the sin. St. Paul writes: Do not be ashamed of the your testimony to our Lord, nor or me, a prisoner for His sake; but bear your share of hardship for the gospel with the strength that comes from God.
2 Timothy 1:8

We are not ashamed of our testimony and hope that others will share with us their own here at afraidnot.

God's will. God's way. God's way. God's will.

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
when sorrows like sea billows roll;
whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say,
It is well, it is well with my soul.

It is well with my soul,
it is well, it is well with my soul.
